What information will Herne Bay Little Theatre collect about me?

  • Ticket bookings made online or through our Box Office are processed through our partner, TicketSource. We will collect your first and last name, email address, contact number, and payment card details. 
  • When subscribing to our newsletter we will collect your email address.
  • When communicating via our website we may collect your name, email address, and IP address.
  • When joining Herne Bay Little Theatre as a member we will collect your; full name, telephone number, postal address, email address, and signature. For youth membership we will also collect the name, telephone number, and address of a parent/guardian. 
  • Herne Bay Little Theatre may use names, photographs, short biographies, and videos of members involved in performances or theatre activities in promotional activities such as posters, leaflets, programmes, social media posts, press releases, and on the website.
  • Herne Bay Little Theatre also uses cookies and will process your IP address when you navigate the Website (an IP address is a number that can uniquely identify a specific computer or other network device on the internet). This information is not used to develop a personal profile of you. 

What is the lawful basis for Herne Bay Little Theatre to use my personal data?

When you make a booking, some processing of your personal data (for example, ensuring that you receive tickets) may be on the lawful basis that it is necessary to comply with our contractual obligations to you.

Will Herne Bay Little Theatre share my personal information with anyone else?

We will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies) Herne Bay Little Theatre also uses third parties to process your information on our behalf (for example, third party payment providers such as TicketSource).

Herne Bay Little Theatre will require these third parties to only process your personal data on the instructions of Herne Bay Little Theatre and will require that they do not use your personal information for their own business purposes. 

For any customers who have opted in to receive newsletter communications from Herne Bay Little Theatre, their email address is transferred securely to our third party email provider, MailChimp who send the newsletters on our behalf.

All of these emails contain an Unsubscribe link, allowing the recipient to unsubscribe from any future newsletters. 

When we collect online payments from you for ticket bookings through our website, we use a third party payment system called TicketSource. TicketSource will collect the following information from you; first name, surname, email address, phone number, IP address, postal address, postcode, credit card/debit card details, payment card details.

Will Herne Bay Little Theatre transfer my personal data abroad?

Herne Bay Little Theatre does not process any personal data in jurisdictions other than the UK. However, some of our service providers may (from time to time) hold personal data on data centres located in other jurisdictions or otherwise rely on sub-contractors located in other jurisdictions.

How long will Herne Bay Little Theatre keep my personal information?

Your personal data will not be kept for longer than is necessary to fulfil the specific purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, and to allow us to comply with our legal requirements.

When booking tickets

We will keep your details for up to 7 years after your purchase. Some personal information will be deleted earlier than this. 

Retention in case of legal claims

We may retain your personal data for the period in which you might legally bring claims against us (in the UK this means we will retain it for 7 years) if and to the extent this is relevant

Retention of membership information

We will retain your details for up to 5 years after you cease to be a member of Herne Bay Little Theatre after which time it will be deleted.

Retention of information relating to performances and promotional activities

We will retain information relating to performances indefinitely as it forms the history of Herne Bay Little Theatre.

What are my rights in relation to the personal data processed by Herne Bay Little Theatre?

You have the right to request access to the personal data Herne Bay Little Theatre holds about you. In order for us to comply with such a request, you will have to submit a Subject Access Request (SAR). We may require you to prove your identity with two pieces of approved identification. We will respond to a SAR within 30 days.
